Artist: Time & Eternity
Album Title: The Face of Death EP
Release Date: September 2nd, 2022
Score: 9.7/10
First Impressions: What ever possessed me to click on this EP, thank you. Perhaps it was the creepy, brown and tan toned album art, or the title, or even just circumstance. Either way, this release was a much needed slap in the face, and an awakening group of tracks that instantly made my ears smile. Heavy without reproach, digestible, well-written and just plain old good, this EP is full of bangers from start to finish. From the short and to the point opening track 'Aeon', to the eerie and ever changing 'Rotting Out', to the final track 'Sarajevo', I was thoroughly impressed with the entire release.
Likes and Dislikes: The crisp, clear vocals are fantastic. I love that Paul Carnahan's voice stays in the pocket but is still dynamic and fresh. In the way of dislikes, there isn't much, perhaps a few moments where I got lost in the noise the band was creating, maybe even a muffled note or two. But in complete honesty I don't have much I don't like about this release.
Favorite Tracks: And Hell Poured Out, The Face of Death
Wrap-up: A neat little collection of tracks to get your blood pumping and ears begging for a repeat. Intelligible vocals, roaring guitars and good, nasty breakdowns. What more could you ask for? My only question is when's the next release?
