This year has been an unprecedented time of releases and new material. And these two heavy hitters did not disappoint with their 2022 Split EP.
"Null", the opening track, starts with a quiet build up that turns into a collision of massive, growling vocals and roaring guitars. If you aren't paying attention, it may very well scare you out of your seat. Next is "Through Seasons of Hatred", whose low, chugging riff creates a swirling storm of sound. Coupled with the vocals and straight up nasty 'blegh' midway through the song, it's easily a song to get you in the pit. "No Mercy" starts off with funny little tidbit about "getting mean" that incites a primal urge to swing. Lastly is "The Mirror"; this was my personal favorite. It starts with cymbals and ends with instant classic level guttural that abruptly end and leave you saying "Damn it's over?"
I enjoyed this release due to its no BS, straight to the point attitude. It got heavy without anything getting in the way, and I appreciated it for what it is: a nice, cohesive and heavy collection of tracks. These two bands put a little extra spice in this release, and I'm not mad at all.
