Is rock music stuck in the past? Are we losing the plot of our genre? What new artists are saving it?
Between the Grammy Nomination announcements, a few festival lineups and Adele famously blue-balling a major streaming service, there's much to discuss in music these days. Question is, what is the course of trajectory for our beloved rock? And better still, what artists or bands are doing the work to save it?
Let's discuss.
So with the Adele situation, her demanding that Spotify remove the shuffle option from her album, do you think she was right?
That's very insightful!
I think rock is always gonna be around, mainstream media only sees the highlights if you will and focuses on that just like "real news companys" but looking around and outside all that there are so many great and talented musicians, and honestly it's a waiting game for the next big thing. But as for stuck in the past, i dont think that's it. I think due to how much social marketing there is that everything gets convoluted that we're just reaching in the mud for a stick we like.
I think a lot of rock fans are stuck in the past, but I don't think rock as a whole is doomed because of that. There are plenty of rock artists pushing boundaries and keeping the genre alive, whether it's mainstream or not
